ES Bucaramanga, conocida como la Ciudad de los Parques o la Ciudad Bonita de Colombia, fue fundada el 22 de Diciembre de 1622 en las estribaciones nororientales de la cordillera de los Andes por el español Andrés Páez de Sotomayor y Miguel de Trujillo.
Es la capital del departamento de Santander (Colombia) y limita por el Norte con el municipio de Ríonegro; por el Oriente con los municipios de Matanza, Charta y Tona; por el Sur con el municipio de Floridablanca y; por el Occidente con el municipio de Girón.
